10 LEGACIES ASIWAJU BOLA TINUBU LEFT BEHIND AS LAGOS STATE GOVERNOR

As Tinubu celebrates his birthday amidst praises from his friends, family and associates,

The Bola Colloquium has reeled out some of his achievements for public consumption. Below are list of legacies Tinubu is associated with, after he governed Nigeria’s most viable commercial state – Lagos and in his political life.

1. Tinubu instituted of a reform plan that greatly improved the welfare of judicial officers including magistrates

2. He revamped the civil and criminal procedure rule as well as creation of the Citizens Mediation Centre; a well-staffed and independent Office of the Public Defender, offering legal services for the poor.

3. He established additional 5 general hospitals in Lagos state

4. He upgraded facilities at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH)

5. He provided free healthcare services including free ante-natal care for women, free eye treatments and free glasses, popularly called ‘JIGI BOLA’.

6. He pioneered the Bus Rapid Transit System and LAGBUS

7. He established the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA)

8. Reference of at least 13 matters related to the principle of federalism to be tested by the Supreme Court

9. Tinubu created 37 Local Council Development Areas

10. He spear-headed the political merger that produced the APC.

A major breakthrough was recorded last night in Ahoada East Local Government Area in Rivers State as the leader of the dreaded Ekpeye Liberation Front,General Igbudu and five others were killed in an operation along East/West road in Ahoada East. Cross River State Governor Ayade Shocks Workers, Pays May Salary On May 1st

Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade today stunned the organized labour in the state when he announced the payment of salaries for the month of May on the first day of the month. A mild drama immediately ensued when the workers who were at the U.J. Esuene Stadium for the May Day celebration each began to receive salary payment alert from their various banks. Unable to contain the excitement, shouts of ‘alert alert alert rent the stadium as the workers went into a frenzy, singing the praises of the governor. Before now, the governor had paid salaries between the 13th and 20th day of each month. Ayade told the workers, who named him the Best Labour Friendly Governor in Nigeria, that his administration had a duty to give workers in the state a sense of dignity. “We must create opportunities for labour to feel a sense of dignity. BBM for Android and iOS could be with us in days, as the struggling company admits to the world it faces "challenging times." Yeah, we won't hold our breath.
