Welfare of your troops should be uppermost in your mind - Buhari charges Service chiefs

While decorating the new service chiefs at the state house yesterday August 13th, President Buhari charged them to ensure that the welfare of the troops in their command is uppermost in their mind and that they must make sure that they make available what is due to them;
"You must be accountable for all men and equipment placed under your command. Your troops welfare should be uppermost in your mind. Take care of them and make available what is due to them. Concerted efforts should also be made to make judicious use of resources that are available to you" he said

On behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Buhari sends his most sincere condolences to the families and friends of victims of the barbaric act. The President says it is quite unfortunate and inconceivable that the forces of evil do not relent on their activities, but expresses confidence  that with the unanimity of purpose from all forces around the world, the workers and perpetrators of these evil acts will not prevail. Alleged N225,000 Bribe: SERAP Drags NJC, NBA To UN, Seeks Suspension Of Rickey Tarfa

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has sent a petition to Ms. Monica Pinto UN Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers requesting her to urgently prevail on the National Judicial Council (NJC) to suspend the judge involved in the alleged receipt of N225, 000 bribe. The group also asked Ms Pinto to prevail on the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to ask the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) to suspend the lawyer involved in the alleged payment of N225, 000 bribe in Nigeria, pending the completion of any investigation as well as final determination of any trial on the matter.
