Robbers invade oil and gas school in Delta, shoot student

 The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celectina Kalu, at the command headquarters on Tuesday in Asaba, said victim was attacked in his apartment, “shot on his chest and robbed of the sum of N20, 000.00 cash” and the hoodlums escaped.

 Samuel Agoko, Samuel Peter and Lawrence Adjoma have been arrested for attempting to kill a student of the Niger Delta Oil and Gas Technical Skills Acquisition Centre, Usiefurun in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The victim was shot on the chest after the suspects made frantic effort to dispossess him of his N20,000. Continue..

But based on the report, detectives swung into action and arrested the three suspects. The culprits have confessed to the crime and they are helping the police in investigation, Kalu said.
She however said the victim has started responding to treatment in an undisclosed hospital, even as efforts were on to recover the weapons of the suspects.

She narrated how detectives from Ashaka Division, acting on a tip off, raided a house at Ashaka and arrested one Solomon Ageje, a 24-year-old man, before recovering one cut to size locally made gun and five live cartridges.

Kalu also said sequel to a tip-off, a patrol team of A Division moved to where some suspected cultists were carrying out initiation ceremony at Umuadike Quarters, off Ibusa Road in Asaba and arrested one Chioma Okuchi, a female aged 21; Francis Vincent, a male aged 27; and nine other suspects.
She listed the items recovered from them to include one cut-to-size locally made pistol, one live cartridge and one battle axe.
