Global Start-up Business Plan Competition 2016 ($USD 30,000 Prize & Fully Funded to Vienna, Austria)

Target Group: potential and existing entrepreneur(s), aged between 18-35, with a new business idea or startup in an early stage

The Global Start-up Business Plan Competition (GSBPC) aims to stimulate and unleash the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation among aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with ideas that contribute to their personal economic benefit and towards developing their communities.

The GSBPC calls on potential and existing entrepreneurs to participate by submitting their innovative entrepreneurial ideas by means of a Business Plan Template, which will be reviewed by a team of experts.

Benefits:

    The three participants or teams with the best business plans will be invited to attend the prize-winners’ event in Vienna on 21 to 25 November 2016, during the celebration of UNIDO’s 50th Anniversary.

They will also receive the following start-up capital:

    1st Place: $15,000
    2nd Place: $10,000
    3rd Place: $5,000

All three winners will additionally be rewarded with:

    A UNIDO certificate;
    Increased visibility for their start-up;
    A round-trip from home country to the UNIDO Headquarters in Vienna, Austria;
    Accommodation and health insurance in Vienna (from the 21 to 25 November 2016).

The top 50 applicants will receive:

Counselling and mentoring through UNIDO ITPO Bahrain (AICEI) for a period of 6 months.

Don’t Smear Amaechi’s Name, Kinsmen Warn PDP, NASS

Kinsmen of the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, on Saturday warned the Peoples Democratic Party and the National Assembly not to damage the integrity of the minister over the alleged non-inclusion of the Lagos-Calabar Railway project in the 2016 Budget. The relatives of the former governor of Rivers State, who came together under the aegis of Concerned All Progressives Congress Members, explained that the saga was a blackmail to smear Amaechi’s image. The APC members from Ikwere Local Government Area of the state also drummed support for the minister, stating that Amaechi has always maintained a high sense of responsibility in public offices. BREAKING NEWS: Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson's Ex-Aide Evarada, Arrested For Offering 10m Bribe To EFCC

Abnedgo Don-Evarada, a former media aide to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The suspect was arrested on Monday in Port- Harcourt, Rivers State for allegedly offering a bribe of N10million to the EFCC’s Zonal Head, Ishaq Salihu. Mr. Don-Evarada ran into trouble when he approached Mr. Salihu over a case involving the Senior Special Assistant to the Bayelsa’s state governor on Millennium Development Goals, Apere Embelakpo and his wife, Fiene Beauty. Mr. Embelakpo is being investigated for alleged diversion of N800million, being funds meant for MDGs, while his wife is being investigated for alleged money laundering, forgery and suspicious transactions to the tune of N200million.
