EDO 2016: IGBINEDION WORKERS ENDORSE GODWIN OBASEKI

Igbinedion's Television (ITV) visited Godwin Obaseki in his campaign office and endorsed him as the right candidate for Edo State's gubernatorial election.

Leader of the delegation, Sunny Duke-Okosun, in his remark noted, “Godwin Obaseki has distinguished himself not only in private enterprise but also in public service as Pioneer Chairman of the Economy & Strategy Team in Edo State over the last seven and half years.

"His achievements are truly outstanding and worthy of emulation.”

He also showed how patriotic ITV station has enjoyed  the developmental stride APC has brought  to Edo state through the Comrade Governor  by endorsing Godwin Obaseki for Edo 2016 to keep on with the good work APC has started in the state.

On receiving the delegates , Obaseki said, “This visit is very dear to my heart because I have always been an advocate of peaceful co-existence upon which the realization of our full potential as a state is hinged. When we all work together, in peace and unity, only then can we be able to build the Edo State and the Nigeria of our dreams.”


Obaseki also made a donation towards the purchase of malaria drugs for the Edo Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, in support of the on-going pet project of the special event committee.

“The displaced persons are Nigerian citizens too, and they did not choose to be where they are today. We have always supported them, and will continue work towards their rehabilitation and reintegration as productive members of the society”, Obaseki promised.

Oil Firms Not Paying Accurate Dues To NDDC – Semenitari

The acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, on Thursday told the joint National Assembly Committee on Niger Delta that all the oil firms operating in the oil-rich region were not fully complying with the law in their remittances to the commission. The NDDC Act mandates the oil firms to pay three per cent of their annual budget to the commission which is expected to utilise same to carry out its mandate in the region. But Semenitari lamented before the Senate and the House of Representatives’ joint committees at an interactive session that the oil firms were just remitting whatever they like to the commission from inception. She stated that the NDDC did not have access to the annual budget of the firms and therefore urged the National Assembly to assist the commission to get the fiscal document from the firms so that the agency would be able to receive the accurate remittances due to it.
